Volunteer Committee Descriptions

Access Control – Mark & Julie Ross co-chairs
Responsible for checking credentials/passes at various locations including clubhouse and hospitality venues. Work closely with hired security and law enforcement in
execution of overall security plan.
Admissions – Tom & Kathy Morefield and Kim Holthaus co-chairs
Sell and issue tickets, manage the Will Call process, and check tickets/credentials at admission gate. When needed, hand out promotional giveaways as spectators arrive.
Assist guests with general questions and ensure they have a positive KC Golf Classic experience. Make sure guests feel welcome and informed about areas they may like to visit during the tournament.
Responsible for the operation of the Caddie Hospitality area during tournament week. Assist with meal services, clean up and needs that may arise.
Hospitality – Deb Taubin & Caryll Schultz co-chairs
Serve as a liaison to corporate hospitality areas. Responsible for making sure guests feel welcome, monitor food and beverage, keep venues clean and assist with any
issues that may arise. Great customer service skills and a positive attitude are required for this committee. Must be 21 years of age
Marshals - Mike Lang & Todd McCullough co-chairs
Responsible for crowd management, gallery noise control, cross-walks, spotting golf balls, player movement and golf etiquette among spectators.
Manage the operations of the practice range and all other practice areas. Duties include distributing range balls, placing appropriate nameplate to identify each player, providing gallery control, regulating access and assisting with other player needs.
Pro-Am – Mike Flanagan & Steve Schoeman co-chairs
Responsible for managing Pro-Am operations. Duties include gift bag assembly, registration of amateur players and concept shop purchases.
Product Distribution – Brian Larson & Ryan Doherty co-chairs
Stock and deliver refreshments to hospitality venues, clubhouse and tee boxes. This committee requires heavy lifting and must be 21 years of age
Responsible for the overall operation of volunteer headquarters. Responsibilities include volunteer check in, uniform management, answering volunteer questions and
restocking snacks and beverages. Assist volunteers during tournament week and create an overall excellent volunteer experience.
Walking Scorers/Standard Bearers – Aaron Stock & Perry Egerton co-chairs
Walking scorers record accurate hole-by-hole information for each player in the group and transmit this information to Scoring Central via handheld devices. Volunteers must have knowledge of golf and be capable of walking 18 holes. Training is mandatory. Standard Bearers are responsible for carrying a scoring standard which is a portable scoreboard for each player in a group. Volunteers must be in good health and capable of walking 18 holes, regardless of weather conditions. Committee chairs will do their best to honor your preference of walking scorer versus standard bearer but you may be asked to help on both.
